This issue of What’s New at Loto-Québec presents highlights of the Corporation’s second quarter Financial Report.

Message from the President and CEO

Loto-Québec recently published its Financial Report for the second quarter of fiscal 2011-2012. Following are some of the principal highlights of that Report.

The Corporation’s overall income during the second quarter totalled $900 million, representing an increase of 1.1% as compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year. Loto-Québec’s activities generated a global result in the order of
$336.2 million, down 2.5% from the second quarter of fiscal 2010-2011.

The increased income is attributable to the positive performance of the Lottery sector, which recorded 2% growth in the second quarter. Both instant lotteries and draw games saw their sales rise.

For its part, the Casino sector obtained results similar to those during the same period of the previous fiscal year, with the Casino du Lac-Leamy, Casino de Mont-Tremblant and
Casino de Charlevoix
posting increases in their earnings of 3.8%, 1% and 0.5% respectively. However, the Casino de Montréal’s revenues declined by 2.6%.

The Video Lottery sector registered total earnings of $251.8 million, representing a slight decrease of 1.4% vis-à-vis the second quarter of fiscal
2010-2011. The Québec City and Trois-Rivières gaming halls continued to show positive performance, with their revenues up by 9.8%.

Within the Bingo sector, revenues grew by 11.3% thanks to Kinzo express. In fact, four
Kinzo express halls were opened in 2011 — in Longueuil, Repentigny, Joliette and Saint-Eustache.

Finally, the Virtual Gaming sector recorded sales of $4.2 million during the second quarter of the current fiscal year. In order to keep its offerings diversified and competitive, a number of new games were added to the espacejeux.com site.

Committed to sparing no effort to innovate and meet the expectations of their respective clienteles,
Loto-Québec’s activity sectors continued to exercise tight cost controls during the quarter.

Other Highlights
In addition to financial results, the Corporation presented numerous other highlights that marked the second quarter in its Report, including the announcement of the Grand tournoi de Poker
Loto-Québec
to be held at the Casino du Lac-Leamy in 2012, the opening of the four Kinzo express halls, and the various distinctions earned by our establishments. I invite you to consult the second quarter Report (in French only) [PDF Format, 669 KB - Help] to learn more.
