  Acting responsibly, developing sustainably

In 2005, Loto-Québec embarked on its sustainable development initiative, which encompasses a full range of economic, social and environmental aspects and is fuelled by a dedication to responsible management. Falling under the authority of the Senior Vice-Presidency of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, the initiative is an integral part of Loto-Québec’s 2007-2010 Strategic Plan, and the Corporation’s efforts in this area have positioned it as a leader among the province’s public-sector organizations.

As prescribed by the Sustainable Development Act adopted in April 2006, Loto-Québec published the results of its sustainable development initiative in a special section of its 2006-2007 Annual Report, and the Corporation has established a concrete sustainable development policy. Adopted by the Board of Directors in November 2006, this policy is in complete compliance with the Act. Moreover,
Loto-Québec is awaiting the announcement of the Québec Government's Sustainable Development Strategy by December 31, 2007 at the latest, which will enable the Corporation to further extend the scope of its sustainable development action plan.

This second issue of What’s New at Loto-Québec outlines some of the accomplishments realized by the Corporation as part of its sustainable development initiative, as well as the latest news about the organization. As we value your opinion, we encourage you to send any comments you may have to endirect@loto‑quebec.com.
